COBIS GAMES CLUB The 2012 COBIS games is an international sporting event involving 12 different schools from around the world. The event will be hosted by PBS and will take place in June. PBS must select 15 students from Year 5&6 to represent PBS and participate in the 3 day event (Athletics, Swimming and Football). The club is designed to look at all students interested in being part of the team and will involve practising the different skills required for all 3 events. Attending the club does not guarantee a student will be selected but gives the PE department a much better idea of who to select in June. Newspaper club Come and be part of the PBS Primary newspaper staff. The newspaper will go out monthly and will be put together by students. We need writers, editors, photographers and graphic designers (Students who wish to do certain tasks should possess some knowledge and skill within a certain area. The teacher may designate certain positions to students; therefore, students need to be flexible). There will also be a wide variety of sections in the newspaper. Photography Club (Vesna Lowderová Hájková) Wednesday The children will learn the function and the importance of light, shade, the influence of colours on a photo and how to use the digital camera and all its functions (zoom, macro, video-sequences, etc.) Lessons will start with a story that will form the stimulus for the lesson. African Drumming Teacher: David Oplatka ISMFA

Music Room

Contains group drumming sessions on special percussion instruments – djembe. This type of musical lesson develops a natural sense of rhythm as well as coordination skills, improves concentration, relieves tension and gives an opportunity to enjoy rhythmic creation together with others. Lessons consist of intuitive performances and teaching focused on various rhythms. Lessons take place once a week and are 30 minutes long. Years 1  – 6
Tennis Coaching with Ms Eva Jancova WTA ranking 298/doubles in 1995 Friday 3 – 4 From 3.00pm to 4.00pm, places will be available for children from years 1 -3.  Here children will be learning the tennis strokes, how to move around a court,  how to control the ball and playing tennis. Cost per lesson is 150kc.  A commitment for the whole term is necessary (11 weeks).
