10.6.2010 Vlastina v Kamyk match report
On Monday 7th June the year 5 and 6 PBS teams played their final match of the year. The game was played at Vlastina and for the first time this year the playersand supporters all wore hats and sun cream on as the sun was finallyout.
The first game began with the quickest ever PBS goal with Benjamin scoring for Kamyk within 4 seconds of the kick-off. The Vlastina team seemed shocked as another goal soon followed but they came back well and had a couple of shots from Jan and Danny which were well saved by Travis and following the quick start the game slowed down and it ended 2-0 to Kamyk.
The second game was the same with Kamyk dominating and scoring anothertwo very good goals. The Vlastina team were now 4-0 down but they never gave up and tackled hard and never gave up. Both teams passed the ball around well but again the game ended 2-0 to Kamyk.
Mr. Romans decided to change the Vlastina team around for the third game and with a few encouraging wordsit seemed to have the effect as Vlastina pressed the Kamyk playersfrom the start and they gained more possession and looked a totally different team. A great goal from Max was greeted by cheers and screamsfrom the watching Vlastina staff and students, and suddenly they were back in it. Shot after shot was sent towards the Kamyk goal but thankfully for Mr Hanlon Travis in goal was also having a good game andthe third gamefinished1-0 to Vlastina.
With Vlastina winning the third game the confidence and belief was there again for Vlastina. The final gameshowed how much both teams wanted to win asevery playershouted for the balland tried their best to score. Vlatina needed that next important goal to get back into the game but unfortunately the Kamyk defence stayed solid and in the final few minutes Wout scored two good goalsand killed offany slimchance Vlastina had and made Kamyk the Year 5 and 6 PBS champions.
Well done to everyone involved and I hope to seethe same amount of passion and commitmenton show in thefinal PBSfootballfixture of the year when the Vlastina Year 2 team travel across to playKamyk for theirfixture onThursday 17th June.

13.5.10 Vlastina v Kamyk Year 2 football match
The year 2 children have been training every week throughout the winter in preparation for these fixtures to start again and they couldn't have been more excited.

The first game started as predicated with everyone battling for the ball and trying their best to get the ball forward. Both teams displayed good passing skills but Gilbert from Vlastina showedexcellentdribblingskillsand scored two good goals. Kamykreplied with a great shot from Jake and the 1st game ended 2-1 to Vlastina.
The second teams had tocope with a bit of rain as a sun shower threatened to stop thematch butthe rainsoon stopped and the childrenconcentrated on the matchagain. Tadéaš scored for Kamyk but an excellent hat-trick from Victor gave Vlastina another win to make it 5-2 at the half way stage.
The third game could have gone either way with both teams creating chances to score. The game looked to be finishing goalless until Fred and Gilbert scored in the final few minutes to give Vlastinaa 2-0 win and almost within touching distance of the victory.
In the final game Mr Boardman decided to change the goalkeeper and put Victor in goal. Thisproved to be a very good decision as Kamyk knowing they needed to score a few goals pushed forward and had shot after shot on goal. Both Jake and Alexia tried their best but Victor was blocking everything. Jake finally scored for Kamyk but within a minuteVlastina hadequalisedwith a shot into the corner from Seb. Thiskilled off any chances of Kamyk winning the match and made Vlastina year 2 champions.
Well done to both teams and we look forward to the return fixtureat Kamyk on Thursday 17th June

22.04.10 Kamyk v Vlastina Floorball

It was a gloriously sunny afternoon on Thursday when Vlastina travelled over to Kamyk for the lastest instalment of our footballing drama.
Two mini tournaments, one for the year 3 and 4s and another for the year 5 and 6s, were played between Kamyk primary, Kamyk Czech British school and Vlastina. The teachers were extremely impressed by the standard of play, with some fantastic passing, dribbling and goalkeeping on show.
The day ended with Vlastina winning both the year3/4 and year 5/6 trophies, with both teams winning all of four of their matches. The runners up in both age groups were Kamyk primary who put up a great show and ran Vlastina close. The Czech British team played well but unfortunately it wasn’t to be for them this time.
22.03.10 Primary Basketball v EISP

With so many football and floorball fixtures being organised throughout the year we decided to organise a basketball fixture against the English School of Prague. On Monday 22nd March the first ever basketball fixture between the primary school teams was played at Kamýk.
The teachers, students and parents squeezed into the small gym and watched the four games that were played from 3.45 - 4.45pm. The teams were made up from a mixture of the Year 6 classes with students like Fenne, Tomáš and Olivia making their PBS team debut.
EISP started very well and with some good passing and movement they were soon 4-0 up. PBS were slow to find their shape and get into the match and the first game ended 4-1 to EISP.
Following a team meeting with a few words to help improve positions and shape, the PBS team improved a lot and won the next 2 games 4-2 and 4-0 to take a 9-6 lead into the final game.
The final game was very tense and every shot was combined with shouts and screams from the crowd. EISP came back into the game and scored 4 baskets to take the lead again. With only seconds to go the PBS team tried to come back but the final few shots missed their target and EISP won the match 15-13.
It was a very exciting game and both teams worked hard and tried their best. Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to playing outside in the sun next term when we return to the football fixtures.

There were 4 matches in all and both sides displayed excellent skills and technique. During the matches the children showed a strong competitive spirit without forgetting the importance of teamwork and fair play. They have clearly been working extremely hard in their lunchtime training sessions.
Match 1 - Vlastina 3 v Kamýk 5
In the first match Kamyk got off to a flying start and soon found themselves with a five nil lead with a fine hat trick from Jáchym. However Vlastina fought back strongly and the game ended 5 - 3
Match 2 - Vlastina 0 v Kamýk 1
This was a much closer affair, both teams cancelling each other out until Andrew struck the winner.
Match 3 - Vlastina 4 v Kamýk 3
Another close game with Vlastina edging out Kamyk thanks to a wonderful hat trick from Tom.
Match 4 - Vlastina 2 v Kamýk 4
In the final game Jirka scored the third hat trick of the tournament as Kamýk ran out winners.
In an exciting and closely contested tournament Kamýk retained their trophy with a 13:9 overall points win. Congratulations to all players involved for their excellent performances and we now look forward to the warmer weather and our summer football tournaments.

Mr. Knowles
2010 Primary Prague Floorball Cup

On Friday 26th February a combined Kamyk and Vlastina Year 6 floorball team and the Czech British Year 6 floorball team were lucky enough to leave their classmates behind and travel to the ZS Na Lise Czech school to compete in the 2010 Prague Floorball Cup.
The tournament ran from 9am - 1.45pm and consisted of teams from all over Prague who were attending the Na Lise school for the day and playing the first stage of group games in the tournament. Each school played 3 games with officials watching over the fixtures and scores, and a referee watching over the players. There was huge support for the home team which added to the atmosphere and packed out the small gym.
The combined Kamyk and Vlastina team played very well in their three games and scored 11 goals with 5 coming from Jirka and a great goal in the final game from Gina. They finished the first group games with 1 win and 2 narrow defeats. The Czech British team were facing an uphill battle from the start as two of their players failed to turn up to school, which resulted in the team playing all three games without a substitute. They battled and tried their best in every game but at the end of the day they were unable to come away with a win.
Both teams enjoyed the day away from school but enjoyed playing against and mixing with the different schools even more. Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to the second round of group games on Friday 19th March.

Saturday football training course

The final training session for the children who had taken part in the 10 week Saturday football training course finished on Saturday 28th November. Throughout the 10 weeks the younger children covered ball control, dribbling and passing skills. The older group covered similar skills but we also worked on possession, movement and positional awareness. Once again the course was a complete success and all the children involved enjoyed the different training sessions we covered throughout the 10 weeks. The football training will be put on hold throughout the winter and will start up again in the Spring.
9.11.2009 PBS Kamyk v PBS Czech School -
Football Tournament

The huge interest from students wanting to join the PBS sports teams this year has given the teachers and coaches at the Kamyk site a difficult selection problem. At the moment there are over 20 players in each squad and despite the fact we have already organised 5 fixtures so far this term it's still not enough for all the players to be involved so we decided to add a local derby into the fixture list. The fist ever PBS Kamyk v PBS Czech school fixture was played inside both gyms at the Kamyk site on Monday 9th November 2009. In the small gym Mr. Adamec took charge of the Year 3 and 4 tournament while I took charge of the older Year 5 and 6 tournament in the large gym. Unfortunately a lot of the Czech students could not attend the fixtures so it was decided to split the Kamyk team up and have a small tournament. The fixtures lasted over an hour and at the end of the tournament Kamyk came out as the winners. Everyone who witnessed the games were entertained with great goals, great saves and lots of enthusiasm. Well done to everyone involved.

19.10.2009 PBS v Vlastina Football tournament

On Monday 19th October the second PBS Kamyk v Vlastina football fixture was played. It took place at the Kamyk site in Prague 4 and all three teams took part (Year 2, 3&4 and 5&6).
It was another cold afternoon as the watching children, parents and staff all wrapped up warm to watch the games.
Year 2
The two games from year 2 made everyone laugh, all 14 children tried their best but they all seemed too excited to worry about positions and crowded around the ball for both games. The players were fighting for every ball and laughing and joking throughout. The ball did pop out of the big circle of players once or twice and only Jake from Kamyk took advantage and had the only shot on goal which was well saved by Niko. At the end of both games it ended 0-0. We decided to finish it with penalties and three great strikes from Vlastina won the year 2 trophy once again.
Year 3&4
Unfortunately a lot of Vlastina players dropped out of this fixture and Mr. Romans had to make up a mixed team combining years 3 - 6. With Kamyk winning 6-1 in the previous fixture and Vlastina having to field a mixed year group team it was going to be interesting.
In the first game Kamyk played very well and throughout the 12 minutes had more than 10 shots on goal but with a combination of excellent defending and Cillian making save after save Vlastina managed to keep the score down to 1-0 for Kamyk by the end of the first game.
The second game opened up a lot more and two early shots on goal from Sam and Martin could have changed the game for Vlastina but Kamyk capitalised on the missed chances and scored two well worked goals from Iva and Frank to make it 3-0 to Kamyk and retain the year 3 and 4 trophy.
Year 5&6
Once again Mr. Romans was asked to use his managerial skills as the Vlastina team were short of players. Mr. Baker kindly stepped in and asked two watching Kamyk players to switch teams for the day and help out.
The mixed Vlastina team started very well and in the first few minutes Evelyn made an excellent long clearance from defence which found Jan who turned well and scored in the corner. The next 10 minutes the Vlastina defence was like a wall and only in the final minute of the first game did Kamyk break through with a great low shot from Torgot.
The second game could have gone either way with shots from Vlastina and Kamyk going close but Kamyk stretched their lead with two more well worked goals from Wout and Irakili and won the game 3-1.
Once again, well done to everyone involved and we will continue the PBS Kamyk v Vlastina sports fixtures next term.

13.10.2009 Vlastina v Kamyk football tournament

On Tuesday 13th October 2009 the first PBS Vlastina v Kamyk football fixture of the year was played. The tournament was held at the Vlastina site in Prague 6 and all three teams(Year 2, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6) were involved in the fixture.
It was a bitterly cold afternoon but thankfully the rain held off so we all wrapped up well and went ahead with the games outside.
The first match of the tournament was the year 2 game. The players worked very hard tackling and passing up and down the field but after 12 minutes neither team could score a goal and it ended 0-0.
The second game was the year 3 and 4 teams. This game started very well with Kamyk scoring two quick goals but an amazing goal from a corner kick from Michael brought Vlastina back into it. More chances from both sides created an excellent first game but Kamyk finished on top by scoring two more and wining the first game 4-1.
After patiently waiting twenty minutes the year 5 and 6 could finally play their first game.Straight away you could see the difference in the age groups as both teams kept their shape and moved the ball around very well. Lots of chances at both ends but the first game ended 1 - 0 to Kamyk.
The second and final year 2 game was again quite close with both teams playing very well and having chances to score. As the minutes ticked away it looked like it would finish a draw but Viktor then stepped up a gear and took control, he dribbled the full length of the pitch to score an amazing goal. He then scored again a minute later and sealed the 2-0 victory and the year 2 trophy for Vlastina.
Next up was the final year 3 and 4 game and being 4-1 down Vlastina needed towork very hard to get back into this game. They tried their best but unfortunately as they were pushing players forward trying to score they left huge gaps in defence and with some excellent passing and dribbling from the Kamyk team they took full advantage of the extra space and scored a couple more. The final whistle blew as Kamyk celebrated a 6 - 1 victory.
Just as thefinal game of the afternoon was about to start the heavens opened and everyone rushed inside the gym for cover. We decided to cancel the final year 5 and 6 game and have a penalty shoot out inside the gym but as we were setting up, the rain stopped and the game was soon back on.
Within a minute Vlastina were soon back in the game as Jan scored a great goal to make it 1-1. A few very well organised substitutions from Mr Baker seemed to shift the balance as Kamyk started to dominate and from an excellent through pass and an even better finish from Irakili, Kamyk made it 2-1. They scored another near the end to win the game 3-1 and take the final trophy back to Prague 4.
Once again we witnessed another amazing Vlastina v Kamyk football tournament. Everyone involved played brilliant and we are all looking forward to the return fixture at Kamyk on Monday 19th October.
12.10.2009 Kamyk make it 4 wins out of 4 against EISP!!!

On Monday 12th October 2009 the English Internationalschool travelled across to the PBS site in Prague 4 to play the second football fixture against the Kamyk year 3 and 4, and Year 5 and 6 teams.
We hoped the rain would stay off long enough for us to play outside but unfortunately the teams, watching students and parents all had to squeeze into the large gym. The noise from the screaming fans inside the packed gym was amazing and it created an excellent atmosphere for all the teams.
The year 3 and 4 teams started the first game at a furious pace. Each player was fighting and battling for the bal lwhich resulted in shot after shot on goal and at the end of the first game Kamyk led 2 - 0.
The year 5 and 6 teams were next but their game was a lot closer, both teams displayedvery good football but not many chances and the first game ended 0-0.
The final year 3 and 4 game was one sided as Mr. Knowles' team took control once again and with excellent passing between Nicola, Iva, Frank and Jakym they managed to score a couple moregoals. EISP came into the game near the end and scored a well worked goal but it finished 5-1to Kamyk.
Year 5 and 6 played the final game of the afternoon but this time it was EISP who were putting pressure on the Kamyk goal. They had more than enough chances to win the game but just couldn't find the target. The second game also ended 0-0 sowe decided to finish with penalties. EISPscored two out of three penalties and Kamyk had scored two out of two when Wout stepped forward and blasted the final penalty into the net to win the game and make it 4 wins out of 4 for Kamyk this term.
Well done to all the players involved and lets hope they continue their excellent record when the games resume after the half term holiday.
1.10.2009 KAMYK STUN EISP!

For our 1st game of the new school year we scheduled a football tournament against the English International School of Prague. The game was held at the EISP site on Thursday 1st October and both the year 3 and 4 team and year 5 and 6 team travelled across to play.
Both teams played 2 x 15 minute games and the total aggregate score determined who would be the winner.
I was amazed at the level of commitment shown by both teams, they battled for every ball and passed the ball around the large indoor gym very well.
The Year 3 and 4 team easily won their game 8 - 1 and the year 5 and 6 team also won their game 6 - 1.
Unfortunately there were too many great goals to mention but I don't want to single out the goal scorers this time because everyone from George and Denis in the goal right through to Irakili and Jakym pressuring and fighting for every ball deserve a special mention as well.
It would be easy for me to say well done to Mr. Hanlon, Mr. Baker and Mr. Knowles for their excellent coaching and training skills but somehow I think the result was mainly due to the excellent skill level of the players.
I would also like to mention how pleased I was to see to the new students to the school fit into the football team so well. A lot of them have played football before and they have added an extra level to the team this year.
Well done to everyone involved and I can't wait to see the teams play again in the re-match here at Kamyk on Monday 12th October.

16.6.2009 Primary Kamyk v Vlastina

On Tuesday 16th June the final Primary sports fixture of the year was played. Mr. Baker brought his year 2 Kamyk team across to Prague 6 to play against Mr. Boardman's Vlastina team. Each site had two teams ready to play and with the watching teachers, students and parents everyone was eager for the games to start.
The 1st game was very exciting with lots of break away attacking and great shots on goal. Mark scored a very good goal for Vlastina but Kamyk came back near the end and Frank scored the equalizer to end the first game 1-1.
The 2nd game was more open and with the extra space Kamyk had more time to dribble and shoot on goal. With David at the back stopping Vlastina coming through it gave Iva the opportunity to use his silky foot skills to dribble and score 3 times for Kamyk and end the second game 3 -0.
The 3rd game started like the first with both teams playing well but not taking their chances. It also displayed a competitive edge as every player charged into the challenges like a bull. With Kamyk leading 4-1 on aggregate it seemed a few more goals would seal the victory but once again Mark displayed his excellent skills to dribble through the Kamyk defence and score twice for Vlastina to finish the 3rd game 2-0 and bring them back into the match.
With Vlastina now only 4-3 behind going into the final game it made Kamyk realise the game was far from over. Iva was again a huge threat but this time he was unlucky and continued to hit the post and with Young Hoon in goal and Zuzana and Jan fighting for every ball it restricted the shots on the Vlastina goal. With the minutes ticking away and Kamyk sensing victory Iva passed the ball backwards towards the kamyk goal and it somehow slipped through Anna's legs to make it 4-4. Then with one minute remaining and the game looking like it would end on penalties again a long clearance from Vlastina caught Anna by surprise and it slipped past her into the Kamyk net and to the delight from the screaming players and fans made the game 5-4 to Vlastina. A minute later the final whistle blew and gave the victory to Vlastina.
Once again the year 2 match had displayed excellent skills, hard work and a lot of excitement, maybe too much for some parents. Well done to both sets of players and coaches.
I hope you all continue to practice throughout the summer and show us the same level of skill and enthusiasm next year.

3.6.2009 PBS Kamyk v EISP football tournament

At 3.15pm on Wednesday 3rd June the English International School of Prague arrived at Kamyk to play the final Primary Interschool sports fixture of the year.
Unfortunately a lot of the EISP year 6 players dropped out and they were forced to play two teams from a mixture of year 3, 4 and 5.
The year 3 and 4 teams kicked off the first game and the EISP team were soon putting pressure on the PBS defence and in the first 5 minutes had created a number of shots on goal. The Kamyk players looked tired and found it difficult to advance forward and after a frustrating 15 minutes for PBS the first game ended 0-0.
Mr. Hanlon’s year 5 and 6 team were next and it soon became apparent the difference in height and age as PBS passed and moved the ball around the pitch without any pressure, resulting in Denis scoring a well worked goal in the first few minutes. It was soon 2 nil and could have been more but EISP continued to battle and work hard and the first game ended 2-0 to Kamyk.
The final year 3 and 4 game was once again very close. The team talk from Mr. Knowles seemed to work as they started to attack a lot more and created a few early chances. Bayo at the heart of the PBS defence was stopping everything coming through and this allowed the PBS team to counter attack and for the time it was EISP who had to work hard and defend. At the end of two games and 30 minutes of football both games had finished 0-0 so it was decided to finish the match with penalties. Artem created two excellent saves from the five EISP penalties and Robert, Simon and Josep coolly stepped up and scored for Kamyk when it mattered and won the penalties and the game 3-1.
The final year 5 and 6 game started off similar to the first game with Kamyk dominating and within 5 minutes another quick goal from Denis had made it 3-0. Torgot went very close with a number of excellent chances and despite some of the EISP players playing in all four games they continued to work hard and display very good individual skills. In the final few minutes EISP pushed forward more and the other Denis in the Kamyk team had a few important saves to make but it was too late as the game ended 3-0 to PBS.
All four teams displayed an excellent never give up attitude and once again the extra lunch time and after school team training from PBS was obvious to see as both Kamyk teams displayed great skills and positional awareness.
Well done to all the players and teachers involved.
26.5.2009 PBS Vlastina v Riverside

On Tuesday 26th May the Riverside School brought their year 3, year 4 and Yr5&6 football teams across Prague 6 to take part in a small football tournament at the PBS Vlastina site.
At 3.20pm the weather was perfect and the first game was soon under way. The excited year 2 Vlastina team kicked off the first game but were soon under pressure. The Vlastina team tried their best and battled for every ball throughout the two games and despite an excellent goal from Benny, the slightly older, stronger and faster year 3 Riverside team won the match 8-1.
The Year 3 and 4 games were a lot different. The Vlastina team passed the ball around very well and with three excellent goals from Jan, Vlastina took a strong lead going into the 2nd and final match.
The 2nd game was again one sided and with two more goals from Jan and one each from Tom and Karolina, Vlastina had finished the 2nd match with a very impressive 7-0 aggregate score.
The Year 5 and 6 team games were more evenly matched. Two quick goals from Adam and Hong-rim gave Vlastina an excellent lead and this gave them the confidence in the 2nd game to keep the ball and pass it around. The Riverside team pressed for a goal and had a few chances to score but Vlastina continued to defend well and with the final game ending 0-0 it gave the Vlastina year 5 and 6 team an overall 2-0 victory.
Once again the standard of football skills, passion and commitment to win each game was amazing to see and something I continue to be impressed by.
Well done to everyone involved!

30.4.2009 Vlastina v Kamyk, football

On Thursday 30th April all 5 Vlastina football teams traveled across the city to play Kamyk in the 1st football fixture of the final term.
The weather was perfect and with 80 children scheduled to play and many more watching, the senior school football game couldn’t finish quick enough.
Due to the senior school game running over we were restricted by the time so we decided to organise two games to be played at the same time. The ten games in total took over an hour to complete and every player from year 2 to year 6 displayed excellent dribbling and passing skills. The teams were equally matched and every game was close.

This is how the final scores finished:
| Year 5&6 boys |
Kamyk 0 Vlastina 3 |
| Year 5&6 girls |
Kamyk 1 Vlastina 0 |
| Year 3&4 boys |
Kamyk 4 Vlastina 1 |
| Year 3&4 girls |
Kamyk 0 Vlastina 1 |
| Year 2 boys & girls |
Kamyk 5 Vlastina 5
(Vlastina won on penalties) |

Well done to everyone involved and I hope to see the same excellent attitude and enthusiasm at the next fixture when the 5 Kamyk teams travel to Vlastina for the re-match on Tuesday 12th May.
23.3.2009 PBS Kamyk v EISP Football Tournament

For the 1st time this term we scheduled an outside football tournament and on Monday 23rd March at PBS. The English International School of Prague brought their Year 3&4 team and Year 5&6 team across to Kamyk to take part in a 6v6 football tournament.
The weather was a bit cold but it didn’t stop the player's enthusiasm to play outside on the football pitch for the first time in 4 months. I couldn’t say the same for the well wrapped up watching students and teachers.
Mr.Knowles‘ Year 3 and 4 team played the first game. We increased the size of the football pitch and it gave the players an excellent opportunity to dribble and pass into space. Both teams created goal scoring chances but the first game ended 0-0.
Mr.Hanlon‘s Year 5 and 6 team were next and started the game very well, they defended every EISP attack with perfect timing and the skills and movement going forward were excellent. Giovanni and Denis scored 3 very well worked goals and gave Kamyk a huge advantage going into their final game.
The 2nd and final game for Mr.Knowles‘ team was excellent. The team defended and then counter attacked very well and both Nicola and Caroline continued to break through the EISP defence. They were both rewarded for their efforts with 2 good goals and everyone celebrated as the final whistle was blown to end the match and confirm PBS Kamyk as the Year 3 and 4 winners.
Mr.Hanlon‘s team played the final game of the tournament and again displayed excellent football skills. Another solid defensive display from Karolina, Nikola and Tereza reduced the EISP team to just 2 shots on goal and with the strikers continuing to cause problems the Kamyk team scored another 3 goals to finish the match 6-0.
I was happy to see the teams playing outside on the football field again and pleased for the teams to score 8 goals and not concede any. It was obvious the PBS Kamyk teams had not lost any of their football skills from last term. Both Kamyk teams were very impressive and fully deserved their victories, well done to all the players and teachers involved.
20.3.2009 Vlastina v Kamyk floorball tournament

At 1.15pm on Friday 20th March the Year 3-6 Kamyk floorball teams traveled across Prague to the Vlastina site for the final sports fixture of the term.
The Vlastina gym was packed with students and teachers eagerly waiting for the tournament to begin. The tournament again consisted of 8 teams with each team playing twice.
Due to the size of the Vlastina gym the teams were reduced to 4 v 4 but this did not stop the commitment and passion displayed by each team throughout the tournament. The passing, movement and goals scored from both sites was excellent to see and every ball was fought and battled for.
After winning the 1st game 1-0 the Kamyk Year 3 and 4 boys team had an excellent advantage going into the final game but Vlastina turned it around in the 2nd game and scored 3 very good goals to win the match.
Vlastina celebrated again as the Year 3 and 4 girls played excellent and easily won both of their games to complete a double for the Vlastina Year 3 and 4 teams.
The two Year 5 and 6 boys games had great goals, good skills and were a lot more competitive than the younger teams. The 1st game was very close and ended 3-3. Half way through the 2nd game a penalty was awarded for holding the stick, Kamyk scored the penalty and it gave them the confidence to step up a gear and they finished the game 3-0 winners.
The Vlastina Year 5 and 6 girls team once again displayed another excellent floorball performance. They won both their games 3-0 and deservedly won back the sports trophy for Vlastina.
Throughout this term we have played every sports fixture inside the gymnasium. The final term will see the return of the outdoor football fixtures and for the 1st time we will introduce a PBS Vlastina v Kamyk athletics event.

9.3.2009 Floorball against EISP
On Monday 9th March the Year 3&4 and Yr5&6 Kamyk floorball teams travelled across to the English International School of Prague to take part in a floorball tournament.
We were greeted by Mr. Smith (EISP PE teacher) and a gym full of EISP students, staff and parents.
Mr.Hanlon's Year 5 and 6 team played the first game. The PBS players quickly adapted to a different gym and used the space to pass and move the ball around very well. Both teams created lots of chances but the 1st game ended with EISP having a slight 2-1 advantage.
Mr. Knowles's Year 3 and 4 team were next and started the game defending very well, they all stayed in their positions and constantly worked hard to win the ball back and attack. Another game with lots of chances but their 1st game ended 0-0.
The 2nd and final game for Mr.Hanlon's team had an amazing finish. Every player worked hard to bring the game level again. The match swung one way then the other and with the game locked at 4-4 and 10 seconds remaining Matej scored a great individual goal to win the game 5-4 for Kamyk.
Mr.Knowles‘ team played the final game of the tournament and again displayed very good floorball skills. Both teams created lots of chances and despite an excellent hat trick from Artemiy they lost the game 5-3.
I was very impressed by the standard of floorball skills and team work that both teams displayed. Well done to everyone involved.

6.3.2009 Kamyk v Vlastina Floorball Tournament

The PBS students have been waiting patiently for the 1st Vlastina v Kamyk sports fixture of the 2nd term to arrive.
At 2pm on Friday 6th March the Year 3-6 Vlastina floorball teams arrived at Kamyk with the 3 trophies they had won last term. Kamyk added the 4th trophy to the table and the tournament was ready to start.
The tournament consisted of 8 teams with each team playing twice.
An excellent atmosphere was created by over one hundred children, teachers and parents from both the primary and senior school shouting and singing inside the small Kamyk gym.
All eight games were played at a very high tempo. The passing and movement displayed from both sites was excellent to see and every ball was fought and battled for.
The Kamyk Year 3 and 4 teams tried their best but could not cope with the passing and shooting skills from the well organised Vlastina teams. Vlastina celebrated as they won both the Year 3 and 4 boys match and Year 3 and 4 girls match.
With 2 trophies already on their way back to Vlastina, Kamyk Year 5 and 6 teams needed to dig deep and battle through their final games. The boys game was very close and with 1 minute left to go the Kamyk team scored an excellent goal to win the match 1-0.
In the final game Vlastina Year 5 and 6 girls team displayed another excellent floorball performance and easily won their 2nd game to win the Year 5 and 6 girls match.
Once again the PBS Kamyk v Vlastina tournament was a huge success and we are all looking forward to the return fixture at Vlastina on Friday 20th March. I am sure it will be just as entertaining and exciting as the 1st match.
Well done to all students involved in the tournament.

02.02.2009 Football team Kamyk v Vlastina
On Monday 2nd February the Kamýk Primary football teams travelled to the English International School of Prague to playa small 6-a-side football tournament.
Mr.Knowles and Mr.Hanlon selected the 2 mixed teams from their Yr3 & 4 and Yr 5 & 6 footballteams.
The tournament was played inside and both teams played two games each. The Yr 5 & 6 team played first and with 3 PBS girls tackling and constantly clearing the ball from defence it was very difficult for the EISP team to break through and the game ended 0-0.
The Yr 3 & 4 team started their game very well and were dribbling, passing and fighting for every ball. Unfortunately with 1 minute to go, the ball was intercepted by EISP and the ybroke away and scored the only goal of the game.
Mr. Hanlon decided to swap the goalkeepers around for the next Y r5 & 6 match and bring Giovanni into the game. This decision made a big difference to the team as he scored a hat-trick and set up the other goal for Federica. PBS won the game 4-2 and finished the Yr 5&6 tournamentas winners.
In their final game Yr 3&4 continued to work hard and passed the ball around very well but could not finish it off when going forward. EISP constantly put the PBS goal under pressure and scored 2 goals in the final few minutes to seal the victory.
Both PBS teams displayed excellent skills and an excellent attitude. Once again the watching teachers, parents and students from both schools enjoyed the event and look forward to the next fixture in March.
Well done toboth teams:
Yr5&6 Federica, Giovanni, David, Tereza, Karolina, Nicola and Denis (From Yr4).
Yr3&4 Nicola, Pietro, Jachym, Bayonle, Maxwell, Caroline and Reka.
15.12.2008 Football team Kamyk v Vlastina

The final PBS football game of 2008 was played on Monday 15th December.
Mr.Boardmans‘ Year 2 Vlastina football team traveled to Kamyk to play Mr. Bakers‘ team for their 2nd fixture of the year.
Due to poor light the game was moved to inside the large Kamyk gym.
All 4 games had passion, commitment and very good goals. Both teams displayed good skills and tried their best to win each game.
Once again the atmosphere created by the watching teachers, students and screaming parents made every game exciting.
Kamyk dominated most of the games and deserved to finish the match as winners. They were happy to lift the PBS Primary Sports trophy for the 1st time this year and finish off 2008 as PBS Year 2 Champions.
The children from both sites have enjoyed the football fixtures throughout the 1st term. We will continue to arrange sporting fixtures next term but we will also include: Basketball, Floorball and Netball.

1.12.2008 Y3 &4 football team
On Monday 1st December the Vlastina Year 3 and 4 boys and girls teams travelled to Kamyk for their 2nd football fixture of the year.
Unfortunately the Vlastina girls‘ team arrived with seven players missing from their team, thankfully three of the boys stepped in to help.
The teams were evenly matched and every game was close. The Vlastina boys team passed the ball around very well and Kamyk had to battle and work hard to keep the game close.
The Kamyk girls tried hard to break through the Vlastina defense but Vlastina continued to counter attack and scored two well worked goals.
The light was fading and the presentation was completed just in time to see the Vlastina girls and boys lift the Year 3 and 4 trophies and take them back to Vlastina.
Well done to all the players involved and i hope we see the same effort and determination in the floorball and basketball games next term.
The final PBS football fixture of 2008 will see the Year 2 Vlastina boys and girls team travel to Kamyk on Monday 15th December. I am sure we will experience the same atmosphere created inside the large Kamyk gym as we had in the previous fixture.
18.11.2008 Y5&6 boys and girls football team

On Tuesday 18th November the Kamyk Year 5 and 6 boys and girls teams travelled to Vlastina for their 2nd football fixture of the year.
Once again the games were very close and only one goal would decide who would be PBS Champions.
The Vlastina boys team were very unlucky not to score and hit the post twice but the Kamyk boys team continued their good start to the season with another 1-0 victory and received the new Year 5 and 6 boys sports trophy.
The Kamyk girls team had 4 players drop out at the last minute so they were reduced to only one team. They played every game and worked really hard. The Vlastina girls have been practising a lot this term and their efforts were rewarded when they won the final match in a nerve-racking penalty shoot out.
At 3 pm the temperature had dropped and the teams all continued playing and worked very hard to keep warm. The football teams are improving a lot throughout the term and once again everyone displayed good skills and commitment.
The next fixture will see the Year 3 and 4 Vlastina boys and girls teams travel to Kamyk on Tuesday 2nd December. The winners will receive the new Year 3 and 4 PBS Sports Champions trophy.

6.11.2008 Primary football

On Thursday 6th November, Mr. Boardman brought his Year 2 Vlastina football team to Kamyk to play Mr. Bakers‘ team for their 1st fixture of the year.
Unfortunately due to the fumes and smoke from the Libus fire the game had to be played inside the large Kamyk gym.
All 8 games had passion, commitment and very good goals. The atmosphere created by the watching teachers, students and screaming parents made every game exciting.
It was very close until the final game but Vlastina sealed the victory with a 3-0 win. The Vlastina children celebrated as Kazushi lifted the Year 2 PBS Primary Sports trophy. It was a nice way to end his final game for Vlastina before he moves back home to Japan at the weekend.
We are all looking forward to the next Kamyk v Vlastina fixture which will see the Kamyk Year 5 and 6 boys and girls teams travel to Vlastina for their re-match on Tuesday 18th November.

6.10.2008 P.B.S Primary Touch Rugby Tournament

The PBS Primary Touch rugby team played their first ever game on Monday 6th October. The team was invited to attend the Prague International Schools Touch Rugby tournament at EISP.
We played against teams from EISP, ISP and a mix of Riverside and the French School. Every member of our team played excellent and considering it was our first ever game playing together they surprised everybody by the way they passed the ball around and kept their shape.
It is very encouraging for me as the PE teacher to see how quickly the players displayed such good techniques after only 3 weeks of Rugby training.
I am pleased to announce that the PBS primary team won the tournament and received high praise from the watching PE teachers, players and parents.
Well done to Robert, Francesca and Federica, Jiri, Adam, Emilie, Shabnam and Giovanni.
2.10. Primary girl's team and Year 5, 6 boy's team Football Match

Last night Vlastina School travelled over to Kamyk to play a football match. Both the girl’s team and the Year 5 and 6 boy’s team played matches. Both the matches were played in great spirit and the children all had tremendous fun. After really exciting penalty shootouts in both competitions our boys won and the girls drew. I would like to thanks all the parents who came to support and also Mr. Hayes and Mr. Hanlon for their hard work preparing the children. The next round of matches will be for Years 3 and 4.

2007/08
13.06.08 Primary school football
On Monday 9th June, Vlastina brought their Year 3 & 4 football team to play against Mr Baker's Kamyk team. The teams played four 10 minute games and each game was very close; three of the games ended in a draw and it was a single goal in the final game from Vlastina’s striker Jan, that separated the teams.
On Thursday 12th June, Vlastina brought their Year 1 & 2 football team to play the Kalmyk football team. This was the 1st time any of the Year 1 & 2 boys and girls from both sites had played together as a PBS team. Each member of the team played really well and all four games were very entertaining.
Vlastina won the tournament with goals from Gauthier, Yoav and Benny. Considering it was the first game they had played I think both sites should be very proud of the skills and attitude of the children involved.
Throughout the year a Kamyk vs Vlastina football match has been organised for every year group. The children have been very excited about this fixture and we will continue to arrange these games next year. It has been noted that during every break and lunch time the Vlastina children are playing football and practicing their skills. Perhaps this is the main reason the Vlastina teams have won every fixture this year? Let's encourage the Kamyk boys and girls to try to do the same and maybe the results will balance out next year.
10.03.08 PBS Primary Floorball

On Monday 10th March the Kamyk and Vlastina Primary floorball teams went to EISP to compete in a floorball competition. All the children involved were very excited about traveling to a different school and being part of the PBS lions team.
Kamyk started the tournament playing against EISP "A" team. It started fast and furious with fouls being given for high sticks and four goals in the first five minutes. Kamyk worked hard but continued to lose their shape and ended up losing the game 5-3. Vlastina played the next game against EISP "B" team. Both teams tried their best and had a lot of chances to score but surprisingly the game finished 0-0. The 3rd game was Vlastina playing against EISP "A" team. Vlastina took the lead with a very good one-on-one finish by Ethan Dodd. They had more chances to increase their lead but EISP defended very well and continued to counter attack which resulted in five goals to finish the game 5-1. The final game was Kamyk against EISP "B" team. Kamyk improved their shape and with some excellent attacking skills from Adam Spano and Matej Brozth they created 3 well worked goals to finish the game 3-0.
The tournament finished with Kamyk taking 2nd place and Vlastina 3rd.
Mr Hayes says: I am always happy to see how enthusiastic the children become in the build up to these events and how much they enjoy being part of a team. All the children, teachers and parents enjoyed the tournament and we will continue to arrange more sporting competitions between the other International schools throughout 2008.
02.02.08 PBS Football Under-11 Tournament

On Saturday 2nd February there was an Under-11 Football Tournament at EISP. Even though this was the start of our half-term break, we had enough children signed up to enter PBS teams from Kamyk and Vlastina. The tournament kicked off with EISP vs Vlastina. We started the game very slowly and at the end of the 1st half we were 3-1 down. The boys settled down in the 2nd half and started to keep possession very well, which created good goals from Joe Oliver and Joe Cunningham and earned Vlastina a well deserved draw. The 2nd game was a battle of the PBS sites with Kamyk playing Vlastina. Goals coming from Adam Spano, Bojan Sparavalo and Ethan Dodd gave Kamyk a 3-2 half time lead but five 2nd half goals (4 coming from Joe Cunningham) gave Vlastina an amazing 7-4 turn around. The final and deciding game was EISP vs Kamyk. EISP only needed to beat Kamyk and they would win the tournament. Kamyk started the game playing the best football of the tournament and a hatrick from Vlastina’s helping striker Ethan Dodd gave Kamyk a 3-1 lead. EISP started to improve and with the vocal support coming from their encouraging teachers and parents they brought it back to 5-5. With only seconds remaining EISP had a great chance to win it but Kamyk's goalkeeper David Kroonen produced another excellent save. Kamyk quickly counterattacked and a great individual goal from Bojan Sparavalo made it 6-5. To the delight of the screaming Vlastina team and watching teachers it ended EISP's chances of being champions and made Vlastina the winners with Kamyk taking 2nd place. I was really pleased to see so many children, parents and teachers turn up early on a Saturday morning, despite being on their half term holiday. Every PBS player played great football and deserved the praise they received.
15.11.07 - Primary School Football
Our Primary School Football team played their second match on our new football pitch. A PBS team made from Bubenec and Kamyk chidlren played against EISP in what turned out to be a brilliant and highly entertaining game of football. EISP had control of the first half and led 4 – 0 at half time. At this point on a bitterly cold evening it would have been very easy for the PBS team to give up and accept that they were going to lose the game. This did not happen. The courage, commitment and passion that they displayed in the second half made our supporters immensly proud to be part of PBS. They battled and played some excellent passing football and scored the first two goals of the second half. The end result was 6 – 3 to EISP but all the players can take great pride from the fact that they won the second half and never gave up. A huge well done to all the boys and to the supporters who never stopped cheering for the whole of the game. We are all looking forward to the next game.
