
The female version Neil Simon’s contemporary classic begins with a group of female friends playing their regular game of Trivial Pursuit. The ladies meet at the apartment of Olive Madison, a divorcee who freely admits to being a slob. "I leave a mess when I read a book." Late to arrive is Florence Unger, a borderline obsessive compulsive who would try the patience of a saint. She has unfortunately just separated from her husband.
Olive takes pity on Florence and invites her to move in. However, it is not long before the differences between them make Olive regret issuing the invitation…
The Odd couple,was performed as the first upper school production involving students from years 10 and 12 on Tuesday 8th March 2011, International women’s day. The cast rehearsed the production for 8 weeks and their commitment and professionalism was evident. The performance was hilarious with consistently strong performances from the whole cast with such positive feedback from the audience that a subsequent performance was mounted on Monday 14th March.
The success of the performance was testimony to the hard work and dedication of all of the students involved both on and off stage!
