Overview

Education is a partnership between home and school. At the Prague British School we recognise the importance of positive home/school relations and parents are welcome as active participants in every aspect of school life.
Children learn best when home and school work together for their benefit. We welcome parent volunteers in class, either on a regular basis or for infrequent events or activities. In addition we provide information and support in a number of ways, for example:

  • sharing our plans for teaching and learning
  • keeping parents informed through regular newsletters, information evenings etc
  • meeting regularly with parents to consult and give progress reports about their children
  • listening and responding to parents concerns
  • operating an open door policy

i. The Friends' Association
All parents/guardians and staff belong to the school’s Friends' Association which meets regularly to discuss charitable and school activities and to organise the many social events held throughout the year.

ii. Class Representatives
Each class selects its own Class Parent Representative to act as a liaison between parents. These parents meet regularly with the senior management to pass on information and keep channels of communication healthy throughout the school.

iii. International Representatives Committee
From the moment you consider enrolling your child at the Prague British School you will be in direct contact with other parents. A system of International Representatives means that you can get first hand information about the school from PBS parents in your own language.
